Remarks & Notes
Cogwheel 2-6-0 T steamlocomotive HG 3/4 # 1 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke is pulling the "Blue Train" 157 from Realp over the Furka pass to Gletsch through the gorge of the Furkareuss near Realp. From Gletsch to Oberwald, the train will run with diesellocomotive HGm 4/4 # 61 of the MGBahn due to high fire risk. The locomotive was built in 1913 by the SLM Winterthur for the Brigue-Furka-Disentis (BFD) railway and ran for the successor Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) from 1926. When the line was electrified, the locomotive was sold to Indochina (later Vietnam) in 1947, together with sisters # 2, # 8 and # 9. Brought back to Switzerland in 1990. Since 1993 operational for the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke after a large revision in Meiningen/Germany. Now a major overhaul is needed and the locomotive will run for the last time for a few years in September this year. The locomotive will undergo a major overhaul at the DFB workshop in Uzwil.
