Sunrise Steam. Early on the morning of Thursday, August 12, 2021, a lot of people people were already trackside in Parsons, Kansas to await the departure of Union Pacific Railroad's "Big Boy" 4014 (4-8-8-4, Alco, 1941) on the early portion of its 2021 tour across the UP system. In 2013, this engine was repatriated from Rail Giants in Pomona, California to the UP Steam Shops in Cheyenne, Wyoming for restoration. Since being returned to service in May 2019 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad's Completion, its runs have attracted railfans from around the globe to see the largest and most powerful operating steam locomotive in the world.
