Heritage Railroad Y102 heads north with a test train to check on some brake modifications done to the two coaches behind it. I've always liked this spot on the K-25 branch due to the cliff & particularly with this engine, it gives it a small sense of feeling like it's back on its home rails.
Clinchfield 800 is special in that is was the first diesel-electric built for the Clicnhfield Railroad in 1948 as an F3. It was later rebuilt to F7 specs in 1953 & would continue to serve the Clinchfield & eventual successor company CSX into the 90s before being donated to the C&O Historical Society (why them, I don't know). The engine was eventually acquired by Vintage Locomotives, Inc. via a trade in 2016 & restored to its as-delivered scheme in 2017 to lead the 75th Santa Train on the Clinchfield. The engine has traveled to several railroads since & now resides on Oak Ridge, TN.
