On the morning of August 26th, 2022, the CSX/Berkshire & Eastern Railroad (soon-to-be formerly Pan Am Railways) "PL-Extra", with GE B40-8 5967 leading, enters Waterbury station while heading north on Metro-North Railroad's Waterbury Branch. The train is preparing to drop off their Metro-North pilot at Division Post (just over 500ft past the station) and continue to Plainville, CT. The PL-Extra was on its way back to Plainville, CT after servicing Kerite Company, the railroad's only customer on the branch, located on a siding in Seymour, CT. The crew also retrieved Metro-North MoW hopper "MNCW 391" (seen just behind the lead loco), which was donated to the Railroad Museum of New England almost 2 years ago. Kerite is usually only serviced one to two times annually, making freight trains on the upper Waterbury Branch a unique sight.
