Making her charge for the hill. After leaving Trout Brook Station, the crew of WW&F Locomotive #9 takes advantage of a hundred yards or so of level track north of the Trout Brook Bridge to get a running start for the climb up the hill ahead. The grade ahead averages 3%, which is pretty steep for the 2-foot gauge. The 9-spot is seen here about midway between Trout Brook Station and the bridge.
