Remarks & Notes |
On a bitterly cold February day, the Twin Cities & Western was out on the far western end of the Minnesota Prairie Line to retrieve some covered hoppers from storage. They're seen passing the old elevator in the small town of Echo. Not long after this photo was taken, the elevator would be torn down and replaced with a more modern structure. While it was sad to see the old building go, the good news is the new elevator was constructed specifically so they could once again ship grain by rail. This has increased the traffic on this otherwise lightly used part of the former Minneapolis & St Louis Railway. |
