Long Train. For the first time in many years, the Fox River Trolley Museum in South Elgin, Illinois held a “Photographer’s Day” on October 2, 2022. The event was held in the early morning to catch the best light on the line and highlighted all of the recent restoration work by the museum’s shop. It was timed to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Chicago Transit Authority on October 1, 2022. The crew made up a 7-car train of CTA equipment bracketed by 2 CTA engines (S-MS65-40-43-5001-45-S314-L202-N) and used CTA 4451 as transportation for the attendees, breaking the train to make “combo shots” on the line. At the end of the morning, the whole 7 car train was posed under the Canadian National Railway bridge over the Fox River near Stearns Road for a grande finale.
