| Pre-Gaming. In a tradition that occurred for many years, the almost 100 year old Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYCT Subway Lo-V 5443 leads a 4-car train on a "Nostalgia Special" to celebrate the New York Yankees being in the post season on October 11, 2012. The Lo-Vs are seen approaching Prospect Avenue in a mix of regular service trains, and will be in position before the rush hour to run super express from 42nd Street-Grand Central to 161 St-Yankee Stadium to bring lucky fans to the ALDS Game that night. New York was recently joined by Chicago as the only subway systems in the United States that presently operate "heritage equipment" on regular routes. |
