The Dreamers. It was a small group of people at NJ Transit that are responsible for making the heritage dream a reality for NJTR 4101 (née-CNJ 3672, NJ DOT) and NJTR 4109 (ex-NJTR 4106, née-CNJ 3677, CNJ). On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, NJ Transit “unveiled" the new look of GP40PH-2 4101. NJ Transit provided flag protection at the Meadows Maintenance Complex in Kearny, New Jersey, and the photographers present were permitted to shoot from a variety of angles. The two were placed side by side to highlight the 2019 painting of 4109 in its as delivered CNJ paint scheme and the very recent completion of 4101 being put in NJ Department Of Transportation paint, both schemes that they wore during their service lives. There is still some mechanical work to be completed, but 4101 will be returning to regular service soon.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
