CSXT is routing all their Orlando area traffic "the conventional way" thru Jacksonville down the A-Line, instead of "the new normal way" around Baldwin to Lakeland and up the A-Line, while CFRC rebuilds the line around Kissimmee which was washed out during Hurricane Ian. This is allowing for shots that haven't been available for many years. It is expected to last until the end of the month. THIS shot (once a daily sight) is, of course, one of the most prized and difficult to get even with the temporary routing, as sometimes the train gets to Sanford in darkness then continues south with a local crew. Today, the train will do just that, tie down in Sanford, but still well after sunrise and within their "window" to run to Taft. The flood waters are at some of their highest, possibly as high as I've ever seen. I can think of only two other occasions the water remained this high, with little sign of receding. This area, including nearby Lake Jesup, is several feet above where it normally crests.
