At Ancona, Illinois, the former Santa Fe main line makes a long right hand curve westward through town. On April 26, 1997, a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe intermodal train flies over the curved trestle spanning Prairie Creek. Still having the appearance of Santa Fe train with a mixed A-B-A set of power, but the lead motor is a bit whipped looking. At the time, I didn’t think these GEs could get much worse, but oh how wrong I was about that!
