During an albeit miserable morning at the shops of Reading & Northern Railroad, 2102 Breathes in the crisp, early autumn air, and exhales piping hot steam into the early morning rainfall.
The warm tones of the shop lights aren't powerful enough to fall on the entire length of the locomotive. The coolness of daylight breaking behind the shop takes over at this point, and stretches out to the front of the boiler, creating the reflection of the sky along the jacket.
Throw in a piping hot boiler and some steam.... Nature and man made power create an inspiring scene.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
