Remarks & Notes
With quite the eclectic, all-Alco lashup, the Batten Kill makes a rare Sunday run with interchange traffic from the Pan Am Southern connection at Eagle Bridge. Leading the way is Raven Rail's D&H-painted Alco S2 #3021. Behind it is original D&H Alco RS-36 #5015 (now SNEX 5015), which was recently semi-restored to the experimental paint scheme it once wore on the D&H. Behind that is D&H-inspired Alco RS-36 #5012 (SNEX 5012), and finally BKRR Alco RS-3 #4116--an original D&H, then G&J unit that still wears a version of its G&J paint today. The reason for all the power was its presence at the Batten Kill's 40th Anniversary Celebration at Cambridge the day before.

New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
