Diesellocomotives DH # 421 and # 430 of the ONCF, pulling the ORIENTAL DESERT EXPRESS from Oujda to Bouarfa (305 km), stopped in Guenfouda for some minutes. Here, the workers with shovels to clear the line from sand entered the train. 30 of the DH 400 locomotives were bought from the NRE (Vernon/USA), but were built by TZV Gredelj in Zagreb/Croatia from 2012 to 2014, with remanufactured EMD prime movers. From Guenfouda south, the line saw no freight nor regular passenger service since decades. The Oriental Desert Express (for tourists only) circulate since about 2006 about 2 times a year, but is intended to run more trains in 2023.
