The ORIENTAL DESERT EXPRESS from Oujda to Bouarfa through the east moroccan desert reached Tendrara in the late afternoon. Local people and a music group awaited the train, which circulate two to three times a year only. In this lonely train station (the village of Tendrara is 5,5, kilometer to the west), scenes of the James Bond film "Spectre" were shot. The railway dates back to 1925 to 1931, built by the French. The railroad line was never completely shut down for strategic reasons (proximity to the closed border with Algeria).
