The Rockland Running Track. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, NJ TRANSIT Train 1157 arrived in Suffern, New York with NJT 4101 GP40PH-2 (ex-NJT 4101 GP40P, née-CNJ 3672 GP40P, 10/1968) leading. After discharging its passengers, the train proceeded to the Rockland Running Track and into the yard to change ends and change crews. NJTR 4101 was recently repainted into a heritage NJ Department of Transportation "Bluebird” scheme that was also worn by the NJDOT/Erie Lackawanna GE U34CHs that operated here for decades. The small building in between the tracks of the Suffern Industrial and the NJT Bergen County-Main Lines is the Suffern Railroad Museum, housed in the former Erie Freight House. The original Suffern passenger station, constructed by the New York and Erie Railroad, was originally located here as well in what is today a parking lot.
