Pushing Out At Sunset. New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway train SU-99 so long that it was decided to add helper units to to push it up the mountain towards Sparta, New Jersey on the evening of Friday, December 2, 2022. Leased Norfolk Southern 5361 (née CR 8223, GP38-2, 8/1978) and 3046 (CR 3360, GP40-2, 4/1979) were back to back to perform the task. The train is seen crossing the Hackensack River in Hackensack, New Jersey as the sun slips over the horizon.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
