The Newest Car. On Saturday, November 26, 2022, dusk was setting upon the 1881 former New York, New Haven, and Hartford station in Thomaston, allowing the seasonal lights to shine brightly in the night. Visiting former New York Central obs/lounge "Hickory Creek", normally a resident of the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey in Boonton, New Jersey, is the star attraction of the evening. This car and former NYC tavern lounge 43, also on lease from the URHS, have added a bit of late 1940s streamlined modernity to the otherwise heavyweight coaches on the train.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
