Holiday Train By King. MTA Metro-North Railroad MNCW 231 (P32AC-DM, New Haven Tribute) led the “Holiday Train” on Thursday, December 8, 2022, seen passing King Lumber in Goldens Bridge, New York. This train, consisting of 2 former Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railway cars that once serve the “Phoebe Snow” with a former New York Central coach in the middle, travels to various yards around the system to distribute gifts and snacks to employees during this season. The owner of King Lumber took over the business in 1977, and was nostalgic to discuss the loss of rail freight service to the location in the early 1990s, although the track remains in place up to the edge of his property. The location has been a lumber business since the 1890s, but the structures are even older, with the building in the background having served as an Ice House during the late 19th century.
