Sunrise Santa Train. Not long after sunrise on Saturday, December 10, 2022, the annual Tri-State Railway Historical Society "Santa Train" crossed the Passaic River into Newark, New Jersey on the way to bring 4 train loads of fun and holiday cheer to its passengers. The power for the day, NJ Transit GP40PH-2s 4109 (CNJ heritage) and 4101 (NJDOT heritage), were paired up for the second time since they were both repainted. Both were delivered in 1968 for the CNJ, and thus were like "foreign power" on this former Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railway line.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
