West Haven Station is a favorite location of mine to shoot at because of the great lighting. On the night of Thursday, January 5, 2023, Providence Worcester train CHFP to Fresh Pond Yard in Queens, NY, rolls by with two C40-8s bracketed by 112 loads and two more C40s on the rear. As the stone season started to slow down in December of 2022, the demand for stone and sand, along with temperatures still above freezing will occasionally require as-needed runs until Spring. This train and its counterpart FPCH on the following day would be the first stone runs of 2023.
