California has been hard hit by several storms off the Pacific Ocean with Flooding Rivers, Mudslides, Strong Winds, Trees Down and Bridges Washed out. On The Sierra Railroad on the Fillmore Branch the Railroad bridge over Sespe Creek was washed out with the Tracks suspended over the river. The Santa Barbara Subdivision was not immune to the storms either. The bulk of the problems are between Gaviota and San Luis Obispo. The Honda bridge on the central coast which was scheduled for work became undermined and closed to all traffic which shutdown the Coast Route. Several trains of rock are underway from the North and South to begin repairs. UP no. 6699 hauls a load of rock to the south side of the bridge, while other trains head to the Northside.
