Following a Cleveland railfanning extravaganza with my friend and his dad, we headed home via Horseshoe Curve and then a stop at Altoona (shops and yards). The yards were filled with dead power, mostly RS3s, Alco switchers, and E8As, but with a mix of other units too. I wrote down the numbers of 58 of them while there. One of my favorite shots was this one, of a New York Central E8A still in NYC light grey, parked next to a patched New Jersey Central RS3, making this my only image ever of a New Jersey Central unit and a New York Central unit together.
Photos of North America's favorite First Generation locomotives. EMD, ALCO, Baldwin; essentially anything that represents the OG wide cab diesel locomotive
