Early morning after 8 AM on the Bernina line along the frozen and snow covered Lago Bianco (White Lake) on about 2250 meter a.s.l. The first train of the day, regional 4628 from Poschiavo to St.Moritz is "Allegra" railcar ABe 8/12 # 3505, shoving the track plow Xk # 9143. After the Galleria Scala, the track plow is in action and whirls up a huge cloud of snow, which was deposited on the track during the night by the very strong wind from the north. On the left is 2862 meter high Sassalb, on the right the bergamasque alps south of the Valtellina.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
