Meet Me In Riverdale. On January 11, 2023, Amtrak Train 235 was on the way to the Albany-Rensselaer, New York with AMTK 708 (P32AC-DM) leading when it passed MNCW 230 (P32AC-DM) shoving a Grand Central Terminal bound MTA Metro-North Railroad train just south of the Riverdale Station in the Bronx, New York. The two heritage paint schemes, Amtrak Phase III and New Haven McGinnis, bring a sense of tradition and pride to the railroad. The P32s are the prodigy of the dual mode FL-9s that traveled these rails after the Penn Central merger that for the first time eliminated the need for an engine change from steam or diesel to electric, and their replacements are already on the drawing board.
