Recently arrived Amtrak ALC-42 diesels 320 and 322 are getting checked out and set up for service at the carrier's Wilmington Maintenance Facility. These two locomotives, constructed by Siemens AG in Sacramento CA in 2022, wear Amtrak's new "Phase VII" paint scheme. It won't be long before these ALC-42s will be hauling Amtrak train all over the country … and we'll miss the P42DCs, although I certainly know quite a few who will not miss those ubiquitous GEs… (Wilmington, Delaware – February 1, 2023).
