One of Amtrak's new long distance locomotives, Siemens ALC-42 #320, sits on the rear of an Amtrak Test Extra on Track 2 at Newark Pennsylvania Station during the night of February 9th, 2023. The locomotive briefly visited New Jersey while undergoing "shakedown" testing on the Northeast Corridor.

320 is one of 75 brand new Siemens built ALC-42 locomotives purchased by Amtrak to haul its long distance trains across the United States. These locomotives feature the latest technology and will replace the aging GE P40/ P42 fleet.
