A Tear to My Eye
I'll admit to choking up a bit as 16 came up through the yard. This was a scene that I last saw in 2010. My only images of the first tourist era are a crappy cell phone video of 15 crossing Meadow Street on a miniSD that's...somewhere. By 2019, pessimism about the EBT's future as the intact treasure it is had creeped into my mind. I had taken its existence for granted and missed my chance to b ehold it in motion.
I should go eat a hat for believing this scene wouldn't happen again. I *will* eat a hat when the line south opens to Pogue sometime in the next year or two, because I absolutely believed that would never happen even if I was wrong about the railroad's future. |
