SLR Alstom-rebuilt Caterpillar-engined W3 666 stands on Kandy running shed on Thursday 26th January 2023. Also in the shot are Thyssen-Henschel M6 791, Hitachi-Paxman M5b 767 & 771. W3 are diesel-hydraulic and were were originally built by Rheinstahl – Henschel with Paxman engines from 1969, but were rebuilt and re-engined by Alstom in 1997.
