Remarks & Notes |
Feb. 18th, 2023. Chesapeake & Ohio 2-6-6-2 "Mallet"-type engine #1309 rumbles upgrade underneath the old signal bridge at Trimble on the former Western Maryland Railroad. The locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1949 for the C&O and was one of the last steam locomotives built in the United States. It now operates on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland, is the only locomotive of it's type operating on a regular basis in North America. |
