| Amtrak 29 slips between some buildings in downtown Gaithersburg on a gloomy day, squeezing between an old fire station and a large apartment complex built a few years ago. The building on the left is the former Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Volunteer fire station which was in operation from the 1930s until 1978 when the department moved to its current firehouse on Montgomery Village Avenue. It is now a museum housing many fire department relics. |
