CSX local L231 heads south through Faison, NC bound for Warsaw, NC on the W&W Subdivision. This trackage is part of what was once the Wilmington & Weldon Railroad (hence W&W), which later began the Atlantic Coast Line's Main Line until the Fayetteville Cutoff was built on what's now CSX's A Line main. Today, this trackage is used by a handful of locals and unit grain trains. L231 is the Warsaw to Rocky Mount turn. It runs at night most of the week, but a relief job covering on Saturdays provides for this weekly daylight run. The EMD leader was a nice bonus.
