Salina once played host to 4 different railroads. The Union Pacific, Santa Fe, Missouri Pacific, and Rock all came into Salina. All 4 railroads had trackage just east of the depot, but only the ex-ATSF and UP tracks remain. Today only 3 railroads come to Salina with the UP being the big boy in town. Shortlines KYLE and K&O also start and end here with an interchange to the UP.
A westbound local out of Salina passes this ex-MP depot as they head west on the Sharon Springs Sub. This job will work west to Ellis before tying down at Hays for the night.
