Remarks & Notes
A Blue Island to Fort Madison vehicle train works into Fort Madison and soon the yard. The train pass the historical Fort Madison. This Fort was in service from 1808-13. Fort Madison was targeted in Tecumseh’s Offensive in September 1812, but held up until Army pulled out in 1813. The outpost carried on a very lucrative trade with the Sac, Fox, Ioway and Des Moines River Dakota; becoming the third highest grossing government factory in the whole system between 1808 and 1811.
