Proud staff of the Fondazione FS Italiane (Foundation FS Italian), most in the matching uniforms of the 1960s, in front of the electric express train ETR # 252 "Arlecchino" (harlequin) in Palombina near Ancona. The four-car train with a maximum speed of 160 km/h (formerly 180 km/h) was built in 1960 by Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, Milano, together with 3 other trains (ETR # 251 to # 254) for the Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) and operated mainly between Milano, Roma and Napoli til 1986, then is special services til 1996. In 1998, the 4 trainsets were discarded. The only surviving train ETR # 252 has been extensively renovated by the Fondazione FS Italiane from 2016 to 2019 and equipped with modern train protection equipment (SCMT). For the German IGE Erlebnisreisen it was on a 3-day trip under the motto "BELLA ITALIA EXPRESS" around the Italian "boot" with about 80 passengers. At either end of the train is a circular observation pulpit with 12 seats each, and the engineer sits elevated in a pulpit above.
