In 1998, the 4 trainsets were discarded. The only surviving train ETR # 252 has been extensively renovated by the Fondazione FS Italiane from 2016 to 2019 in the O.M.S. Ferroviaria in Poppi, Arezzo, and equipped with modern train protection equipment (SCMT). For the German IGE Erlebnisreisen it was on a 3-day trip of 2150 kilometer under the motto "BELLA ITALIA EXPRESS" around the Italian "boot" with about 80 passengers. At either end of the train is a circular observation pulpit with 12 seats each, and the engineer sits elevated in a pulpit above.
