| Milepost 12 on the BNSF Scenic Sub was once known as the 'Million Dollar Mile', but it's a name that has been lost to time. The name does not come from the many nice houses that make for no wrong side of the tracks in this area, but from the fact that this is the newest section of the Scenic Subdivision along Puget Sound. In the 1960s, Great Northern moved the track hundreds of feet further out to sea and the hill you see behind the track is still an active landslide area. |
