Amtrak's Northeast Corridor through New Jersey sees a near constant parade of both Amtrak and NJ Transit passenger trains. And occasionally, NJ Transit sends you a ringer – a train that is not in the timetables. NJTR ALP-46A 4632, looking a bit faded and worn, hustles one of these trains, possibly symbolled YM-32 or MM-04 (and, possibly not), as it hustles Comet cars from the carrier's Meadowlands Maintenance Complex (MMC) in Kearny NJ to Morrisville PA for wheel turning, or perhaps this is an unscheduled equipment repositioning move due to an equipment issue earlier in the day … or some other unscheduled movement. It is anybody's guess! Of course, I spent (wasted?) about ten minutes checking timetables and pulling out hair (not really … that’s been gone for decades!) before I gave up on this one and consulted with my NJ railfanning friend Rob Pisani, who explained it all to me. Thanks, Rob! (Linden, New Jersey – April 4, 2023)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
