Maintenance in the way. A track crew working in the Southern Pacific's yard at Laws, California, makes a mad dash for the track car set-out, as the impatient crew of a scheduled southbound freight takes the main line, destined for Owenyo.
This re-creation during a March, 2023 photo shoot at the Laws Museum near Bishop, CA, organized by Lerro Photography. Playing the part of our track crew this day were four members of the Carson & Colorado Railway, which is the organization that owns Southern Pacific Locomotive #18, which is pictured in the background. The narrow gauge hand car pictured is owned by the Laws Museum.
