The Heritage Keeps On Coming. Throwing back to an even older period in its history, New York, Susquehanna, and Western Railway released SD40-2 3024 (ex-NS 3553, née-BN 7200, 10/1979) in silver and maroon on the afternoon of Monday, April 17, 2023. The locomotive was brought from Butler, New Jersey to Ridgefield Park, New Jersey in the afternoon, and immediately put into service that day on a local job. After recently painting most of its SD70M-2 fleet in its corporate yellow and black, there was still at least one more surprise in store for fans of the railroad. On its debut run in new paint, the locomotive is seen crossing the Hackensack River from Hackensack, New Jersey to Bogota, New Jersey.
