I jumped ahead of this train wanting to get a shot of it passing the small grain silo. What I did not know was that they woukd work another customer first and come by shoving that car as the conductor held onto the front of the car. I remember thinking then that had ruined the shot. Now that I looked at it again ten years later, I realize it actually made the shot better. It's a part of railroading when you cannot run the car around the train to pull the entire consist. I used to watch the Lancaster and Chester Railway do this from my grandmother's kitchen window in Lancaster, South Carolina.ARC 12 is an EMD SW1500 built for Southern Pacific as SP 2659,Weyerhauser as WTCX 308. |
