Remarks & Notes
NORMAN OK (September) 1978 — Santa Fe CF7 2472 is laying over in city center between Main and Gray. It headed up the southbound local and will return north in the morning as the trailing unit. In April 1950 EMD built the unit as F7A 239L and painted it in blue with cream and vermillion trim. In December 1976 The Santa Fe’s Cleburne (TX) shops rebuilt 239L into CF7 2472 with a blue body and yellow warbonnet. Santa Fe retired the unit in December 1984 and traded it to GE for B23-7 production. GE sold it to Blue Mountain & Reading between January and February 1985. Sometime before October 1988 National Railway Equipment acquired it and eventually sold it to IMC Fertilizer where it was renumbered 204. My photo.
