After missing my chance to photograph this rare BN executive SD70MAC duo leading eastbound coal loads for the NS, I made sure to not miss my chance to get them coming back west with empties, even if that required pulling an all nighter… It’s about 02:45 in the morning as BNSF E-CNMWTM flies west with coal empties for Powder River Basin In Wyoming. SD70MAC’s 9687 and 9407 lead, both former Burlington Northern. They are seen passing the historic Chicago, Burlington & Quincy depot at Fairview Avenue Metra station in Downers Grove.
