Flying' On A Friday. CSX M701-11 has just arrived in Oak Point Yard in the Bronx ,New York with CSXT 482 (AC44CW) leading as Amtrak Acela train 2190 (New York, NY Penn Station- Boston, MA South Station) AMTK 2038 flies by as the sun rises on Friday, May 12, 2023. While there is a clear difference between the concrete tie road tracks of Amtrak and the yard tracks of CSX, they were once all part of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad. A variety of buildings rise from the skyline of Manhattan in the background as the Acela runs next to Interstate 278/Bruckner Expressway.
The Northeast Corridor cuts through four New York counties on its brief stretch to the Connecticut Line east of Port Chester. There are several photo opportunities along the route.
