Remarks & Notes
NORMAN OK June 4 1978 — Santa Fe CF7 2633 leads train 514 as it departs to the north. EMD built this unit as F7A 312L:2 in March 1953. It was delivered in silver with a red warbonnet without an Indian-head logo on the sides. In June 1971 it was leased to Amtrak but was back on the Santa Fe before November of that year. In November 1971 the Cleburne (TX) shops rebuilt it as CF7 2633 with a round cab and painted it blue with yellow ends (bookends). It was later rebuilt with an angled cab and repainted blue with yellow warbonnet. Santa Fe retired the unit on April 22 1987. It was sold to National Railroad Equipment in July 1987. WATCO acquired it later and it became WATX 6. My photo.
