Class E956, also named ALFA-X, is an experimental train by JR East for developing the new generation Shinkansen train. Built by Kawasaki and Hitachi, this 10-car train has different designs of nose profiles, windows, etc. Several features were under concern during evaluation, such as weatherproofing, vibration, and noise reduction. Since the trial began in 2019, the train has reached the fastest speed record of 382km/h.
