Cabooses. On Thursday, May 18, 2023 CSX/Pan Am Train PL-1 three gifts for the Railroad Museum of New England. MEC/BM 77 caboose flat and MEC/BM 249 a converted troop slpr, both assigned to the “wreck train” as well as MEC 20141 (Maine Central XP box car) were donated by CSX as that railroad consolidates its properties and deaccessions excess equipment. Recently rebuilt NAUG 859 (née-NW 859, GP9, 6/1959) in its Pevler Blue and N-5 Caboose 507 were assigned to the the Naugatuck’s freight that day and took the handoff. After dropping off the box car, the train is seen crossing Jericho Bridge in Thomaston, Connecticut. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this process work for all parties involved.
