Cab car is mixed first/second class ABt # 116 of type PA-90 from 1993. The line between Gais and Altstätten Stadt has some cogwheel sections with grade of up to 16.0 %. On this day, the railcar was not allowed to run down to Altstätten on the cogwheel because of pending approval after a revision.
