Daylight Over The Susquehanna. On June 1, 2020, ALSTOM Amtrak Acela II Train Set 2 (AMTK 2103 leading) made a midmorning departure from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to travel to Washington DC, its first appearance in the light of day on this portion of the Northeast Corridor. The unusual move was in order to allow the wheels to be trued at the Ivy City shop, and was possible due to reduced service during the pandemic in spite of a 50mph speed limit. A fortunate wind kept the flag in photo as the train approached Havre de Grace, Maryland after crossing the Susquehanna River from Perryville, Maryland. This photo was used for the Amtrak 2022 calendar.
