| The Interregio 1820 of the line IR90 from Brig to Geneva Airport is crossing the 79 meter long bridge over the Dala gorge, between Leuk and Salgesch. This concrete bridge was built in 2004, when the line here was upgraded to double track and largely laid in tunnels. The Dala river comes from Leukerbad and flows into the Rhone a few meters from here. The railway bridge is between the 1365 meter long Leuk tunnel and the 2799 meter long Varonne tunnel. Above the railway bridge is the 130 meter high and 209 meter long steel/concrete road bridge from Leuk to Varen, built in 1991. |
